At Collinsvale church we believe we are all on a spiritual journey where God is active in the messiness of everyday life. As we come together in community, none of us have arrived but all of us need grace and God loves it when we are honest about our brokenness and desires a contrite spirit. Collinsvale church is a place where no one has it altogether. God calls us to love Him and others and we are a multi-cultural community united by recognition of our brokenness and our mission to share the good news of God’s Kingdom here and now and His coming Kingdom
Our vision at Collinsvale church is, ‘To Be, To Experience and to Grow Thriving followers of Jesus. This means that we are committed to leading people into a growing relationship with God. All people no matter who they are created in the image of God and are therefore open to receive God’s grace. Consequently, all people have value and that is why we are a growing multicultural church. God does not just dispense grace, he wants to change us. Paul states in Romans 12:1-2:
"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God."
How do we respond to his Grace? Jesus said “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.” Our response should be to ‘seek first His Kingdom’ amongst the clutter of everyday life. Unfortunately in the clutter of life spirituality is the first to fall off the list in favour of daily pursuits.
You are invited to share your spiritual journey with us at Collinsvale Church. God’s kingdom is here and now, and He longs to commune with us. God does not promise to propel us painlessly through the troubles in this world, but he does promise the peace that comes only from above – a peace that material things cannot provide. God promises to take us home to heaven where He longs to share with us in the blessings of eternal life. What is there in this world that is worth sacrificing eternal life? You are very welcome to join us and to journey with us and as you journey with us you will also enrich our experience with God at Collinsvale.
